Vice – Documentary Research & Production

I worked on two 10-hour, episodic documentary series for Viceland, Vice’s (short-lived) cable TV network.

Abandoned – Researcher

I worked as Researcher for Abandoned, a show hosted by professional skateboarder Rick McCrank that explored modern day ruins, and the social, economic, and political circumstances that created them. In that role I helped build episode pitches, source locations and access, and identify, pre-interview, and schedule guests.

Episodes explored nuclear infrastructure in the PNW, shuttered schools in St. Louis, post-Katrina New Orleans, and the rusting industrial history of British Columbia’s coast, among other stories.

The Wrestlers – Story Producer and Researcher

The Wrestlers highlighted diverse and unique subcultures of professional wrestling around the globe. Stories included transgender wrestlers in Mexico, Bolivia’s indigenous Flying Cholitas, witch wrestlers in the Congo, and the wacky antics of Japanese wrestling.

As researcher and story producer I helped establish the voice and tone of the project, shape episode pitches for Vice’s executive team, researched topics, conducted interviews, and accompanied the crew on shoots around the world.
